The Department of SAIF/CIL , Panjab University, Chandigarh celebrated the National Science day on 28th February 2023 with great enthusiasm and endeavor to commemorate the path-breaking discovery of Raman Effect. The celebration of Science day under the G20 and Y20 banner had the highlights like open house for school students, researchers and faculty from various educational and research institutes, demonstration of sample preparation and working of sophisticated analytical instruments and interactive sessions for discussions and trouble-shooting. Open house was inaugurated by Prof. D. D. Sarma (Solid State and Structural Chemistry Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru) in which more that 200 students, researchers and faculty members participated in training on various sophisticated analytical instruments (LCMS, FE-SEM, HR-TEM, NMR and XRD) in which participants actively interacted and learned about various technical aspects of high end instruments available in SAIF/CIL, PU.
