Ms. Purva Garg (IAS) Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration visited Govt. Model High School Karsan, to motivate the students and the teachers who have been implementing ‘Pathshala Project’

Ms. Purva Garg (IAS) Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration visited Govt. Model High School Karsan, to motivate the students and the teachers who have been implementing ‘Pathshala Project’ for the students of classes 4 and 5. She was accompanied by Ms. Ravinder Kaur, Dy. Director School Education cum Dy. State Project Director; Ms. Bindu Arora , District Education Officer; Ms. Neena Kalia, Dy. Director III and the members of the Team Pathshala. This Project has been implemented in 112 schools of Chandigarh with the aim of achieving the target of Universal Foundational Literacy and Numeracy in primary schools under NIPUN Bharat Mission.
The project is effectively executed by Education Department UT Chandigarh along with Kachi Sadak Foundation and Arpan Trust. This program comprises of Pre Testing to identify literacy and Numeracy levels of all students of classes 4 and 5; Level wise targeted interventions to bridge the learning gaps; regular monitoring and target based assessments; and Post assessment for gauging the progress of students.
Ms. Purva Garg took keen interest in the conduct of this level wise intervention program. She congratulated and motivated the teachers and the students for their efforts and selected the primary classes for GMHS Karsan for further Piloting the Pathshala Project. Madam Garg also spent quality time in school library, where she monitored the available reading environment for the students. She motivated teachers to incline students towards forming reading as a hobby because it leads to all-round development of brain and personality.
Dr. Dharamender, Headmaster, GMHS Karsan apprised Education Secretary Madam about the Infrastructure development of the school. He informed about the ongoing construction of the boundary wall to the officials of the department. Education Secretary Madam, enquired about the construction of the school building to Mr. C. B. Ojha, Chief Engineer and asked him to expedite the process of initiation of construction of new school building. The Headmaster of the school thanked Ms. Purva Garg dignitaries from the Education department and Team Pathshala for their visit.
