Chandigarh Declared Aspiring Leader in State Startup Ranking 2021
UT Chandigarh has been ranked as an Aspiring Leader in developing a strong startup ecosystem in the union territory of Chandigarh by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade ( DPIIT) in its third edition of states startup ranking event held in New Delhi on 4th July 2022. Chandigarh has attained aspiring leader ranking for its several praiseworthy initiatives for strengthening startup ecosystem in city by creating state of the art SPIC incubation facility and providing incubation support to young entrepreneurs in setting up their venture.
The evaluation exercise adopted by DPIIT for startup ranking 2021 evolved to focus more on the implementation and grassroot impact of the policies and its evaluated measures undertaken during the period of 1st October 2019 to 31st July 21. 3rd edition of startup ranking witnessed highest ever participation of 31 States and UTs this year which included 24 States and 7 UTs.
Results of the ranking exercise was declared in special felicitation ceremony held in New Delhi where ranking certificate were presented to UT Chandigarh in the presence of Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, Textiles, and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has conducted the third edition of the States’ Startup Ranking Exercise, incentivizing States and Union Territories (UTs) to act towards holistically developing their startup ecosystems. The exercise identifies the best practices which have been pivotal in supporting startup growth and fostering a culture of mutual learning between States and UTs.
