Election Preparedness Assessment Meeting with candidates in Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency.
Chandigarh,16th,May,2024.A meeting under the Chairmanship of Shri Kauslendra Tewari, the appointed Expenditure Observer, pertaining to election expenditure registers to be maintained by candidates was convened at UT, Guest House in the Chandigarh parliamentary constituency.During the meeting, detailed explanations were provided regarding the permissible expenditure limits and the prescribed procedures for incurring expenses during the electoral process.
Abstracts of the rules, as well as approved rates for various expenditure items were distributed to the election candidates and agents.
The forum also served as an opportunity for candidates to address any queries or concerns they had regarding election expenditure. These queries were promptly addressed and resolved to ensure clarity and adherence to regulatory frameworks.
Emphasizing the importance of adherence to the rules framed by the Election Commission, the Expenditure Observer stressed the need for meticulous compliance of rules. It was reiterated that strict adherence to these regulations is paramount to maintaining the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
It is apprised to the candidates & agents that the dates for inspection of Expenditure Registers have been fixed for 20.05.2024, 24.05.2024 & 29.05.2024.
The candidates were informed that dedicated expenditure monitoring teams are available for consultation and assistance between 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM daily at Meeting Hall, UT, Guest House to seek guidance or clarification regarding expenditure-related matters.
