Dear Sh. Debendra Dalai Ji,
I want to bring to your kind notice, a big banyan tree which is of unsually large size and is growing rapidly in the middle of residential area in Sector 38 (opp. H.No. 2813, Sec 38-C). This tree should be uprooted urgently to avoid the risk to human lives. Below I am listing down some of the important reasons that this tree is hazardous.
1. This banyan tree is very big and just on the crossing of three internal roads. There are many accidents happened because of dangerous crossing and no visibility of traffic coming from the other side of the road.
2. This tree has very long and thick roots and spreading very fast to go under the nearby residential buildings so causing the danger to the safety of the buildings.
3. There are electricity wires just going below the tree and during the storms there is always the risk of tree branches falling on the wires causing electrical fire and danger to the people walking on the street below.
4. These kinds of trees are normally not appropriate in the residential areas because they grow extremely fast and cover the front of the houses totally to not allow sun and the wind. Moreoever these trees are home to large colony of rats and snakes.
5. Being a very huge tree there is constant shedding of large number of leaves causes a menace on the road all the time.
6. There is already a recent incidence in Chandigarh where an old big banyan tree had fallen on the school children and caused death.
