Press Note: Sudha Society Foundation, South City 2, Gurugram celebrated National Women’s Day. The President of the Society, Mrs. Ruchi Saxena, said that India’s National Women’s Day is celebrated on February 13 because on this day the prominent freedom fighter and poetess Sarojini Naidu was born. Sarojini Naidu was a freedom fighter as well as a prominent activist fighting for women’s rights. SHe is also known as ‘Nightangle of India’ and ‘Bharat Nightingale’. Sarojini Naidu also has the distinction of being the first woman governor of the country. Then tribute was paid to the eminent vocal material Lata Mangeshkar and she was remembered as a hymn. On this occasion, respected women of India were also remembered for their special achievements. Arunima Sinha who climbed Mount Everist was a very brave woman who showed the courage to catch the thieves in the moving train and the thieves dropped her from the train due to which she lost her leg. Aarti Saha became the first Indian woman to cross the English Channel and received the Padma Shri award in 1959. Similarly mary com is a female boxer who qualified for the Olympic 2012 and won the gold medal at the ASEAN Games 2014.

Sudha considers this day to be very important and gives health-related products to the women of poor families. Around 200 sanitary pads were distributed to women in Gurugram’s Khal Pada, JJ Cluster, Basai Enclave and South City II neighbourhoods. Deepti, Pooja, Sanjoli, Kiran, Anjali, and Anil Dutta, volunteers discussed and spread awareness about the diet they follow to stay healthy during their periods.

During the workshop, Ruchi Saxena interacted with the young women and answered their questions regarding health and well being. And participated in it by spreading awareness and distributed sanitary napkins.

Giving the slogan of reform of women power, idol of love and sacrifice, Sudha’s Chairman Shri Gopal Krishna Bhatnagar appealed to all for the development of women power.
