As a part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative of Govt of India, a tree plantation campaign was organised by the Department of Urban Planning with the assistance of the Horticulture Wing on 17.09.2024. To promote environmental sustainability and further enhance the green cover of the city, trees of around 5-6 varieties were planted in the Leisure Valley, Sector 10 by the Chief Architect along with the officers and staff of the department.
The concept of the landscape planning of the city, planned and undertaken along with its physical planning, was discussed and it was observed that such endeavours will ensure that the city maintains its Green character for which it is renowned world wide.
