Rs 2372.59 crore approved for 2700 km roads under PMGSY in Himachal

21 August 2023, Himachal Pradesh: Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports Shri Anurag Singh Thakur is on a three-day Himachal tour to take the stock of the ground situation and share the pain of the victims affected by the disaster.

After meeting people in Shimla, Sirmaur and Bilaspur yesterday, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur travelled intensively in Dharampur and Sujanpur assembly constituencies of his parliamentary constituency and shared the pain of the disaster affected people today.

Describing the huge devastation in the recent days as extremely sad, Mr. Thakur said that there has been a lot of loss of life and property in the entire state. There is huge devastation in the entire area including the roads. Even now, we are evacuating people whose areas are in danger and keeping them in community centers and schools, where proper arrangements are being made for their food and water. I myself will visit all the disaster affected areas and take stock of the damage. Guidelines have been given to the officers to provide immediate relief. The assessment of damage to private property and other public infra will also be completed soon so that immediate relief can be provided to the people.”

Giving information about the help from the Center, Mr. Thakur said, “The Central Government is completely with the people and the state government of Himachal Pradesh. The Central Government is continuously providing all necessary help by coordinating with the State Government. Rs 662 crore has been provided to Himachal in 3 to 4 instalments. The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has given another Rs 200 crore yesterday. That means the center has given Rs 862 crore as immediate help. Apart from this, under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana 2700 crore rupees have been given, which will help rebuild all the damaged roads. Along with this, money will also be sanctioned for the construction of houses which have got damaged. We have also told the state government clearly that all the necessary help will be provided in the future as well.”

Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Mr. Anurag Singh Thakur during his day-long intensive tour travelled and met people in Tihra, Sajao Paplu, Rayur, Dharampur, Badrana, Sandhol in Mandi of Dharampur Vidhansabha and Sachuhi, Khairi, Jungle, Bagheda, Sujanpur, Patlandar and Rangas of Sujanpur Vidhansabha.
