• When Congress government comes, the problem of property ID recovery from the public will be ended: Hooda
August 20, Rohtak: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that the BJP-JJP government is pushing the state’s education system and the future of its children into darkness. He said the government wants to destroy the entire education system through rationalization and Chirag scheme.
Addressing a press conference in Rohtak today, Hooda said there has been a severe shortage of staff in many schools of the state due to the new transfer policy of teachers. “Instead of filling the vacant posts, the government is eliminating those posts and their subjects from the schools,” he stated.
“The government has so far abolished the posts of about 20,000 teachers. Whereas the truth is that there are about 38,000 teachers’ posts lying vacant in schools. Thousands of youth are waiting for the recruitment, but this government is going to eliminate vacant posts without recruitment,” he said.
Citing RTI, he compared the work of the Congress government and the current government. “From November 2014 to April 2022, this government has opened only 8 new schools in the state and upgraded only 463 schools. While the government has so far closed a total of 196 schools. Three days ago, the government closed 105 more schools. The Congress government had made Haryana a hub of education,” he pointed out.
Hooda said that during the Congress tenure, many national and international level institutions and campuses like IIM, IIT, IIIT, FDDI, NIFT, Nifd, Niftm, NID, AIIMS, 5 Medical Colleges, Central Universities, Defense University were established in the state. Along with this, about 5,500 schools were opened and 1313 schools were upgraded. Dozens of Model Schools, Aarohi Model Schools, Kisan Model Schools were also opened in the state.
“During the Congress government, more than 1 lakh jobs were given in the field of education alone. With the establishment of such a large number of educational institutions, lakhs of other jobs were created. But the present government is taking away, instead of giving jobs. During the last 8 years, not a single JBT recruitment has been carried out by this government,” he stated.
The former Chief Minister said that the level of education in the state is continuously deteriorating, due to the policies of the government. Referring to the NIRF ranking, Hooda said universities of the state are constantly lagging behind. “Universities like KUK and GJU could not even make it to the top 100. The ranking of MDU has also fallen to 94. Whereas till 2016-17, these universities used to make place in the top 30-50,” he said.
The former Chief Minister said that the BJP-JJP government is immersed head to toe in corruption. “Government ministers themselves are admitting to corruption. In this government, there have been countless scams including liquor, registry, recruitment, paper leak, paddy purchase, electricity meter, mining, but the government announces only SIT in the name of investigation and report of these SITs never see the light of day and no action was taken against anyone,” he stated.
On the question of recovery of fee of Rs 5000 for rectification of property ID, Hooda said that the government has started scams like property ID to loot and harass the public. It will be abolished when Congress government comes.
Hooda told reporters that the government has taken a U-turn on shifting the mini secretariat and judicial complex in Rohtak. In response to a question asked by MLA BB Batra in the assembly, the Chief Minister himself said that there is no plan to shift the judicial complex and the mini secretariat.
Hooda had announced that these premises would not be allowed to be shifted at any cost, because the government wanted to take this step to benefit a particular person but it would have caused unnecessary hardships to the common people. The government had to eventually take a U-turn on its decision.
