National Institute of Nursing Education, PGI organized CNE on Trauma Nursing Update.

The National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE) held a pivotal Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) on “Trauma Nursing Updates” on May 16, 2024 organised by the faculty and students of MSc 2nd-year Medical-Surgical Nursing students. The program aimed to advance the knowledge and skills of nursing professionals in trauma care.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests Prof. Vipin Koushal, Medical Superintendent of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), and Prof. S.K. Gupta, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, PGIMER Chandigarh.
Dr Sukhpal Kaur, Principal, NINE, emphasized the nurses’ crucial role in the prevention of trauma and pre and intra-hospital care of the patients.
Prof. Koushal, in his keynote address, highlighted the critical importance of ongoing education in trauma nursing. He emphasized that the nurses to be updated with the latest advancements and knowledge to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Prof. Koushal praised the initiative of NINE for organizing this important program.
Prof. Gupta provided valuable insights into the necessity of a multidisciplinary approach in managing trauma patients and stressed the crucial role of nurses in delivering comprehensive care to trauma patients. The event was coordinated by Ms. Neena Vir Singh and Dr. Manju Dhandapani, Associate Professors, NINE, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
The program featured a series of expert lectures designed to enhance the knowledge of the participants. Key topics included advanced trauma life support, care of potential organ donors, management of traumatic brain injury, cardiothoracic trauma, abdominal trauma and advancement in trauma nursing. Participants were motivated to pledge organ donation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the speakers and participants. The success of this program highlights NINE’s commitment to excellence in nursing education and its dedication to improving patient care through continuous professional development.
