Chandigarh, September 18: Director General of Police Shri Shatrujit Kapoor today held a meeting with senior officers today regarding capacity building and increasing the efficiency of police personnel in Haryana. CCTNS, improving police investigations, police training, inventory, and many other points were discussed in detail in the meeting.
During the meeting, Mr. Kapoor discussed with the officers on issues related to making the police system better than before. Speaking on the topic of training of police personnel, Mr. Kapoor said that it is very important for police personnel to receive training on a regular basis. For this, they will be given training through training schools at the district level. He asked ADGP Administration Kala Ramachandran, who was present in the meeting, to prepare an activity calendar for training the police personnel and get them trained accordingly. He said that for this, people trained from Haryana Police Academy will be sent to the districts. Two such trained persons will be appointed in one district who will train the police officers.
Similarly, the quality of police investigations was discussed by Mr. Shatrujeet Kapoor in the meeting. Shri Kapoor said that it is the endeavor of the Haryana Police to ensure that the investigation process in police stations is of high quality so that people can get justice on the basis of accurate facts. He said that a legal advisor will be appointed to ensure quality and capacity building in police investigation work. Legal guidance will be provided by the legal advisor from time to time during the investigation. During this, he also stressed the need to improve the working in police stations.
Women’s safety was also discussed in detail in the meeting. Shri Kapoor said that the Haryana Police is committed to providing a safe environment to women. The department is taking many important steps to ensure that women in the state feel safe not only at home but also in public places. He said that a link will soon be generated on the 112 website to create a database of women’s information. Data will be uploaded to this website with the help of representatives of all educational institutions, corporations, and other institutions working in the state. After this process is complete, whenever a woman calls or WhatsApps the helpline number 112, the information related to her will automatically be sent to the employee posted at 112. In addition, women can also register by calling 112 or through the 112 India app.
The Director General of Police also asked the officers about two important tasks related to increasing the efficiency of the police in the future. He said that the officers should prepare a list of two to three important tasks at their level so that the functioning of the police can be improved.
