The 8th Convocation of GMCH, Chandigarh was held on Thursday, the 11 May, 2023 at College Auditorium (Sarai Building) Sector 32-A, Chandigarh. Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh, was the Chief Guest.
Prof. Jasbinder Kaur, Director Principal welcomed the Chief Guest and highlighted various achievements of the institute and also apprised the audience of future plans of upgrading the institute and betterment of patient care. The Chief Guest, SH. Banwarilal Purohit delivered the convocation address in the presence of Sh Dharam Pal, Adviser to Administrator and Sh Yashpal Garg, Secretary Medical Education and Research.
231 graduates of batches admitted from 2009 – 2016 were awarded MBBS degrees. The Chief Guest also awarded 51 meritorious students of the institute and congratulated all the young doctors for being fortunate to have graduated from the college that is ranked 8th among the government medical colleges of the country. Sh. Purohit wished that the young doctors may find fulfilment and boundless opportunities to make a positive change on the world.
