Women engaged in social work honored
Chandigarh, Chandigarh Panchkula Diamond Unit of Lioness Club felicitated women who have made outstanding contributions in social work during a program organized at a hotel in Sector 43. Thirty women participated in the felicitation ceremony under the guidance of President Paramjit Grewal. She informed that their club unit was awarded a multiple award as the best club and nine other awards during the National District 321A2 award ceremony held in New Delhi on May 1. Those awardees included Asha Kahlon, Neelima, Arun Badhwar, Suparna Sachdeva and others. The social work of these women includes organizing langar for the needy, helping needy children of government schools, encouraging the girl child etc.
Former club president Manjit Bhamra, Treasurer Renu Bakshi and area chairperson Ranjana Banga were also present on the occasion. Sachdeva said that this award will motivate the club members more so that they will continue to work for social welfare.
