To Celebrate International Year of Millets-2023, the Food Safety Administration, Health Department today i.e. 17/3/2023 organized an Eat Right Millet Mela in the premises of Govt Multispeciality Hospital, Sector-16, Chandigarh. Director Health & Family Welfare, U.T. Chandigarh Dr. Suman Singh inaugurated the event.
20 Stalls of various institutions & organizations were setup during the Mela. Institute of the Hotel Management, Sector42, Chandigarh, CITCO demonstrated Live recipe of millets based products during the function. Dietetic department of GMSH-16, Chandigarh made aware public about importance of millets for being healthy, Nukkar Natak by organization Millet Girl was played to show the importance of growing of millets. School children’s of Bhavan Vidhyalaya read out poem on the Millets.
Doctors, paramedical staff, nursing offices and all officer & official of the Govt Multispeciality Hospital showed keen interest in gaining knowledge and bought products.
Sh. Yashpal Garg, IAS, Secretary Health-cum-Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh also visited the Mela and interacted with each stall holder about their product. Secretary Health insisted that more awareness among masses is required about healthy life style and good eating habits by way of organizing such types of events.
During the event all were served lunch based on millets. Everyone liked the food and appreciated the event.
