The State Designated Agency (Electrical Wing Chandigarh Administration) Organized an Awareness Program for Engineers of Public Health Circle Chandigarh Administration and Municipal Corporation Chandigarh under Municipal Demand Side Management Program of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power Govt of India on 15th March 2023 and 17th March 2023.
Inaugural ceremony of the workshop was presided over by Er. C.B. Ojha Chief Engineer, Chandigarh Administration, he informed during address to the participants that Urban Local Bodies in India can realize tremendous benefits by adopting and executing Municipal Energy Efficiency Programs in water supply systems, sewerage systems, street lighting and municipal buildings, as the Program will help to Learn effective energy management at the design stage resulting in reduced costs of electrical energy consumption and also will help in reducing the operational costs and highlighting the tools for energy monitoring on continuous basis with adoption of Internet of Things (IoT).
Er. Ranjit Singh, Head of SDA Chandigarh informed that the basic objective of the workshop is capacity building and to improve the overall energy efficiency of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (Urban Local Body), which could lead to substantial savings in the electricity consumption, thereby resulting in cost reduction/savings for the ULBs and ultimately reduce carbon foot print by reducing power consumption.
This workshop was organized to achieve smart, green and clean initiative of Chandigarh city as envisaged by the Chandigarh Administration.
