February 21, Chandigarh: The political mood in the state is turning towards the Congress as bumper joining of big leaders from other parties continues into the in Haryana Congress. Several senior leaders of the Aam Admi Party, JJP and INLD joined the Congress on Tuesday.
Aam Aadmi Party leader and former MLA from Ladwa Ramesh Gupta, former JJP leader and ex-chairman of Haryana Staff Selection Commission Amirchand Chawla, Sandeep Goyal, who contested Yamuna Nagar Mayor election on behalf of Aam Aadmi Party, and State Vice President of INLD Kisan Cell Mahipal Rana joined the Congress. In addition to this, two dozen leaders along with hundreds of their workers joined the Congress.
These leaders took membership of Congress under the leadership of former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda and State President Chaudhary Udaibhan. Both the leaders welcomed everyone on joining the party and assured full respect.
This program of joining took place before the state level meeting of the party on Haath se Haath Jodo’ campaign. All the district in-charges, district and block coordinators appointed for the campaign participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, AICC Haryana convenor Subhash Chopra said that whenever he comes to Haryana, a large number of people join the party every time. “This shows that the wind in Haryana is blowing in favor of the Congress. It is certain that the Congress government will be formed in the state,” he said.
He expressed satisfaction over the programs conducted so far regarding the campaign. He called upon the Congressmen to go among the public, expose the misdeeds of the BJP and also give details of the development works to be done if the Congress government is formed in the future.
He said that the momentum gained by the party through Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra should not diminish. “It is the responsibility of all Congressmen to take this message of love given by Rahul Gandhi against the politics of hatred to every household,” he said.
Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on this occasion that the strength of the army decides the victory and defeat in elections and war. “Congress has a strong army of workers. The success of Bharat Jodo Yatra proved that party workers are in full of enthusiasm. With the same enthusiasm, he will also make the Hath Se Hath Jodo campaign a success,” he stated.
“It has become clear from public sentiments that the Congress government is going to come in the state. In such a situation, the responsibility of the Congress workers towards the public increases. If the workers keep awareness about the issues of the public from now itself. It should be our aim to make the state number one in the country again on every scale of development,” he said.
Chaudhary Udaibhan said under the Hath Se Hath Jodo campaign, Congress leaders and workers will go to the public with 14 promises. “Giving old pension scheme to the employees, Rs 6000 pension to the elderly, restoring cut pensions and BPL cards, stopping the hassle of family ID card, property ID, making permanent recruitments on vacant posts, abolishing Kaushal Rozgar Nigam are some of the key issues,” he said.
He also highlighted issues like filling the backlog, giving 300 units of free electricity, implementing the old sports policy are included in the promises of the Congress. Udaibhan said the BJP is worried about Rahul Gandhi’s questions and the Congress session to be held in Chhattisgarh. In frustration, raids are being conducted there before the AICC session.
