Centre for Public Health in collaboration with MGSIPA & NIDM, MHA, GOI conducted a workshop on “CCA-DRR Mainstreaming into City Plans” held on 21st February 2023 at Golden Jubilee Auditorium under the guidance and direction of Dr. Yajvender Pal Verma, Registrar, Panjab University and Dr. Manoj Kumar, Assistant Professor, Centre for Public Health, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Yajvender Pal Verma on renewable energy recourses to combat climate change. 179 participants attended the workshop. The initial lecture was delivered by Retd. Prof. Aman Deep Ahluwalia, (Ex. HOD, Department of Geology, Panjab University on “Climate Change- Truth and Myths” followed by Dr. Arun Kumar Bansal (Sr. Programmer, Panjab University and Social Activist), Prof. Anil K. Gupta (Head, ECDRM, NIDM, New Delhi) and Dr. Rozy Veid (Professor & Former Head, SIRD, Govt. of Punjab). Participants worked in teams to prepare on the spot presentations on various aspects of CCA- DRR focusing on the Punjab under the supervision of Dr. Veid.
