The Mohali Senior Citizens Association (MSCA), the biggest association in Punjab with more than 2200 members, organized the P H Vaishnav Memorial Seminar today 24th December 2022, at Shivalik Public School, Phase-6, Mohali. The subject of the Seminar was Cyber Crime.

The eminent speaker for Cyber Security was Dr. Surya Narayan Panda, Professor & Executive Director (Research), at Chitkara University, Punjab. He explained the level of intelligence has increased in the past several years and that real action is taking place in cyberspace which is faceless. He explained the nuances of cyberspace and the points one should keep in mind while venturing into it.

DSP Deepak Singh and Inspector Daljit Singh explained the role of the Police in tracking cybercrimes and the precautions we need to take while making online transactions. They also explained the information required to track the fraud at the earliest.
Mr. Gaurav Khanna, Deputy Manager DCB Bank, explained Banks’ role in such matters and the type of information they would require to track down the trail of money. He emphasized the minimum loss of time in reporting such matters to the bank.
Sardar Kulwant Singh, a Member of the Legislative Assembly, Punjab, thanked the audience and appreciated the subject selected for the Seminar. Regarding the requirements of MSCA, he assured all to take up effectively these with respective departments.

Brig JS Jagdev, President of MSCA, thanked the Chief Guest for sparing his valuable time and encouraging the senior citizens with his full support. He also conveyed thanks to all the speakers, the members, his team and everyone involved in making today’s function a grand success.
