Flag Off of Chandigarh contingent for National Games
It was auspicious occasion for Chandigarh as a contingent of 225 (approximately 200 players and 25 officials) which are going to participate in the 36th National Games, was flagged off today, at sports complex, sector 34, Chandigarh.
The players from Chandigarh will be participating in 26 disciplines in the mega event to be hosted by Gujarat under the aegis of MYAS, GOI. These National games are being revived after 7 years as the unavoidable long gap has been because of Covid situation. The 35th National games were held in Kerala in 2015.
The games will be held from 29th September to 12th October, 2022 in which 36 States/UT’s of India will be competing in the 36th National Games in which players will be vying for top honours in 26 sports disciplines.
Shri SS Gill, Secretary Sports, Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest at the occasion and flagged off the contingent and distributed playing kits to the players. Shri Sanyam Garg, Director Sports, Chandigarh Administration was the Guest of honour at the ceremony.
Shri Amrinder Singh Bajaj, President of COA, Dr. Sunil Rayat, Joint Director Sports, Chandigarh, Shri Chander Mukhi, General Secretary, Basketball federation of India & President, Chandigarh Basketball Association, Shri Ravinder Talwar, CEO of COA, Shri NS Thakur, General Secretary, COA, officials of various sports associations of Chandigarh were also present on the occasion.
