Commissioner MCC and DC inspects Vegetable Market Sector 26
Directs concerned officers to keep the market clean
Chandigarh, May 25:- Ms. Anindita Mitra, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation and Sh. Vinay Partap Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh today jointly inspected the Vegetable Market, Sector 26 to check the sanitation condition over there inside the Market compound.
During the inspection the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner found haphazard sitting of retail vendors of vegetable and fruit etc. in the market and disposing off their waste inappropriate manner. Besides this encroachments by some vendors also found during the inspection.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to demarcate proper sites for the retail vegetable vendors and guide them for disposing off their waste in the designated places. The Municipal Commissioner also directed to clean the market area thrice daily without failing to lift waste from any point.
She also directed the concerned officers to challan the violators regularly and strict legal action be initiated against the habitual violator as per the provisions under Municipal Solid Waste bylaws.
