A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Vinay Partap Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh to discuss to details of 8th International Yoga Day which will be celebrated on 21st June this year .
The proposed venue for the said event is Capitol Complex and the same has been conveyed to Govt of India for approval. Public participation is expected in large number for the said event. NGOs like Patanjali, Art of Living, Brahmakumaris, Nirankari Mission, Yoga Sansthan etc will participate in the yoga event. Further this day will be celebrated in the city at other 75 sites on the same date simultaneously. Students, policemen and para military forces will also participate in the said event. Participants will be informed about the yoga protocol and it was also decided that rehearsal for the main event will be held on 19.6.2022.
Ms. Hargunjit Kaur, Director Tourism, Sh. Rupesh Kumar Aggarwal,, Additional Commissioner MC, Sh. Akhil Kumar, Director AYUSH and other officers of Chandigarh Administration and Chandigarh Police were present in the meeting. Representatives of Patanjali, Art oF Living, Yoga Federation, Nirankari Mission etc were also there.
