Shri Dharampal, decided that the 34 Health & Wellness Centre, located in different parts of the City, need to be upgraded and modernized in such a way that the Chandigarh becomes a role model to rest of the country. The Health & Wellness Centers shall be the focal point for efficient delivery of all the health services except those requiring physical presence at the major Hospitals. He directed that:
• The civil infrastructure in the HWCs will be inspected and repaired/upgraded by the Engineering Department of Administration.
• A standard set of infrastructure and health services should be prepared and same to be made available at each of the HWC.
