ARCHO 2022 – Grand Finale and World Heritage Day Celebration

​The Chandigarh College of Architecture celebrated the Fifty Ninth Annual Festivities Week ARCHO 2022 and World Heritage Day today. The Festivities started on 19th March, 2022 and comprised of a number of competitions including, Sports Events, Fashion Show, Masterchef and a number of other creative endeavors.

On 2nd April, 2022 , the inter House Cultural Competition was held where the students completed for the Best Play, the Best Dance Performance and the Best Vocal and instrumental judges for the event included renowned theatre and music personalities from the tricity.

The Grand finale in the form of the Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized on 18th April, 2022 along with the celebration of World Heritage Day at Chandigarh College of Architecture. The Chief Guest for the event was Ms Purva Garg, Secretary Technical Education, Chandigarh Administration. Mr. Amandeep Singh Bhatti, Additional Secretary Technical Education, Chandigarh Administration was also present on the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

The day began with showcasing the models made for the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, unveiling a mural on master architects and a presentation on the recent publication by CCA on the Flooring of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, called “Interpreting Geomtries”. The programme included a presentation on the theme of “World Heritage Day”, Release of Chandigarh College of Architecture Year Book, Launch of Photography and Movie Clip Competition. As a part of World Heritage Day, a special debate and quiz competition for the students of Chandigarh College of Architecture was also organised. The winning participants of debate titled “Heritage buildings can with stand the impact of climate change” presented their thoughts during this program.

This was followed by distribution of prizes to the various award winners of the competitions.

​ Kalinga House won the Design Trophy, Cultural Trophy and the Overall Trophy and Maurya House won the Sports Trophy.
​The Secretary Technical Education Ms Purva Garg, IAS congratulated, all the award winners and encouraged all students to participate in all co-curricular activities along with their Academic Work. She also motivated them to get involved in social work for their overall development as good human being.
