GGDSD Students Narrate Visual Stories on World Health Day
Thursday, 07.04.2022: On the occasion of World Health Day, TheYoung Communicators Club under the aegis of Post Graduate Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of GGDSD College conducted a ‘Student Journalist Competition’ encouraging students to narrate visual stories related to their personal lives and experiences, especially during the challenging Covid period. The event was conducted in collaboration with the Public Relations Council of India. The Department is running the career-oriented B.Voc Media and Entertainment course that regularly conducts industry-academia interactions to help students develop useful practical skills that will help them succeed in the media industry.
Kanishka of BA first year, Princi Chauhan of BA third year and Taranjot Kaur of BA third year bagged the First, Second and Third prizes respectively. Principal of the college Dr. Ajay Sharma congratulated the winners and applauded them for showing great enthusiasm and actively participating in the event. Dr. Sharma also emphasised on the fact that how awareness on maintaining good health is need of the hour; more so when the world’s been through a deadly pandemic lately.
Dr. Priya Chadha, Head of the Department stated, “Our College is the only one in the city that has a well-equipped Television and Radio studio with the latest technology. The winners of the competition will be given a chance to record at the Department’s TV studio.”
