SUDHA Society celebrates 26th January by facilitating 26 people getting ‘e-Shram Cards’

The ‘e-Shram Card’ provides free insurance of Rs 2 lakhs, to people between the age group 16 to 59 years.

 

January 26th, 2022: As part of the Republic Day celebration, SUDHA Society has today set-up a camp to facilitate the process of applying for e-shram card, with an aim to help the labour class.

 

The E-Shram portal was launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment under the Government of India to form a database of workers in unorganized sectors on August 26, 2021. All the workers registered will be given an E-Shram card to avail benefits. Workers of all segments can register themselves with the help of Aadhar numbers and bank details. Registered members will be eligible for a variety of benefits by signing up for the Shramik Yojana and receiving an E-Shram card.

 

SUDHA Society foundation is always on their toes to help the underprivileged and hence this year on the occasion of Republic Day (January 26), the NGO came forward to help 26 people including housemaids, servants, salesperson, small shop owners, workers in the registration process to get e-shram card. Another step forward to help the government.

 

Ruchi Saxena, President SUDHA Society, gave more context, “E-sharm card in a way can transform the lives of the needy by providing them free insurance of Rs. 2 lakhs. Registration for the same can be done at any of the Choice Center / Public Service Center / Post Office near you. You can also register yourself from the site eshram.gov.in, only Aadhar number, mobile number and bank account number is required.”

 

The camp for e-shram card registration is meant to help those who are not aware of the government schemes and/or do not have the means to fulfil the requirement.

 

Mr.GK Bhatnagar, Chairman of SUDHA Society Foundation also commented, “We are constantly working towards making the lives of the labour class a bit easy and helping them in any way we can. This card will benefit all schemes of labour department like a scholarship to children, free cycle, free sewing machine, free tools for your work etc. In future, the ration card will be linked to it, so that ration will be available from any ration shop in the country.”

 

The camp was organised in association with Atal Sewa Kendra, run by Mr Abhilekh Aggarwal. Also, the event would not be possible without the efforts of Garima, Suhani, Minaj and Pooja, SUDHA Society volunteers.
