            The Department of Life Long Learning and Extension, Panjab University Chandigarh, in collaboration with Origin Life Healthcare Solutions and Research Centre (LLP) celebrated Ist Year of World Health Organization (WHO)’s Cervix Cancer Elimination Movement, here today.

            On the occasion, Dr. M.K. Neyaz, the Founder of Abir Bio-service Foundation, New Delhi gave  presentation and elaborated the concept.  He highlighted the global burden of Cervical Cancer and Current Epidemiology in India.   He emphasized that despite being hundred percent (100%) curable on early detection but because of poor/ lack of awareness alongwith social stigma, people are not going for early screening.  He stressed that awareness and screening is must to address this cause.

            Dr. Pulakes Purkait, one of the Founders of Origin Life Healthcare Solutions and Research Centre gave brief introduction of Origin Life’s activities.  He also informed the participant about the OriFERT and OriCAN Kits for Cervix Cancer detection.

            Dr. P.S. Kang gave vote of thanks.

All COVID-19 Protocols were observed by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
