Various events & talks were organized with aim to create awareness on spinal health and well being

Gurugram, 16th October 2021: Artemis Hospital, Gurugram organized a spinal health and well-being campaign on the occasion of World Spine Day. The objective of the campaign was to create awareness among people about the importance of physical activity, good posture, responsible lifting and healthy working conditions that will all feature as people are encouraged to look after their spines and stay active as this pandemic has hit us all and has completely disturbed the routine life, which is leading to a bad impact on the spine health. The aim of the campaign is to create an awareness among the generation to lead a health life.

The event witnessed various activities and interactive sessions conducted by the team of experts including Dr. Hitesh Garg, Head Ortho Spine Surgery & Dr. Himanshu Tyagi, Sr. Consultant Orthopedics & Spine Surgery interacted through live webinar. The panel of experts had highlighted the importance of Neuromonitoring, 3D Imaging during Surgery & Two surgeons approach which leads to high success rates and improves surgical results.

Effective management and prevention is the key and this year’s World Spine Day will be encouraging people to take steps to be kind to their spines. “We are getting two sets of patients; one is the group of patients who after recovering from COVID stopped going out. Their activity levels decreased and subsequently this lead to increase in their weight, resulting in pain and stiffness in weight bearing joints. Similarly, in the other set of patients we are seeing with an increase in number of people suffering from arthritis as we are receiving cases of joint pain mainly due to the new work from home culture” Said Dr. Hitesh Garg, Head Ortho Spine Surgery, Artemis Hospitals Gurgaon.

As a part of the awareness drive, Hospital also organized Safe Spine Surgery Month in the premises. The team urged people to always take precautionary measures to avoid any complications.
