Haryana Police on multiple fronts in hard times of pandemic

Another DSP succumbs to COVID-19, DGP mourns the sad demise

Chandigarh, May 9 – Putting up a brave face often at great risk to themselves, Haryana Police men and women in ‘khaki’ are fighting like a warrior on several fronts to counter the second wave of COVID-19.

Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that when the people could not dare to leave their homes due to fear of deadly coronavirus, then these ‘Karmaveer’ of the police remained in the frontline without any fear and are busy serving the people with dedication. These ‘brave-hearts, ensuring effective lockdown and Covid appropriate behaviour for the protection of the people, often come in direct contact with the infected persons. Nevertheless, the police personnel have neither lost the courage nor there has been any decrease in devotion to public service.

He said that Haryana Police officer Virender Singh, DSP, posted as Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Narnaul succumbed to COVID-19 today. He was suffering from corona and was undergoing treatment for 15 days at a private hospital in Rohtak. He was just 50 years old and was DSP Hansi before being posted as Secretary RTA. He was posted in several districts of Haryana.

DGP mourns the demise

Condoling the sad demise of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sh. Virender Singh, Director General of Police (DGP) Haryana, Sh. Manoj Yadava said that Haryana Police has lost a dedicated and hard working officer. Expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, he prayed to the Almighty to give courage to them to bear this irreparable loss and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

Earlier Ashok Dahiya, DSP posted at Badli in Jhajjar, succumbed to Covid-19 during treatment at Badsha AIIMS.

Unfortunately, 21 police personnel from Haryana Police have lost their lives to coronavirus. In 2021, a total of 1607 policemen have been infected, while 2970 were diagnosed positive in 2020.

He said that so far 48373 police personnel have taken their first dose of vaccine, while 30130 have taken their second dose. We have also created covid care facilities in the police lines for our personnel who are frontline warriors in the battle against the pandemic.

At the same time, a police personnel deployed to uproot coronavirus said that it is my duty to prevent and stop the spread of infection. This is the hard times and we cannot move back. We advising the general public to wear masks, wash hands frequently and ensure personal distancing at public places. In addition, we also were appealing them to remain extremely cautious so as to protect themselves and their near ones. Policemen are deputed in hospitals and corona affected areas, ensuring smooth supply of oxygen and also preventing black marketing of life-saving drugs etc.
