The Kuwaiti Cabinet has decided to send oxygen supplies and relief items to India.

The Kuwaiti Cabinet during its weekly meeting held, expressed its deep concern and regrets about the deteriorating health situation in India, which has emerged due to the spread of the new mutated strain of the coronavirus. In this distressing period of increasing deaths and infections, the Kuwaiti Cabinet has decided to send oxygen supplies and relief items to India.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the State of Kuwait, called his counterpart Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Tuesday 27 April 2021, and pledged the solidarity of leadership, government and people of Kuwait with the Government of India and its people during these difficult times. The Two ministers discussed the continuing health cooperation between the two countries and the need to advance practical steps to meet these new challenges. His Excellency also extended his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the lives lost in this pandemic and hoped a speedy recovery to those infected.

The arrival of the relief items, including ventilators, oxygen cylinders and other necessary medical and protective items, is expected on Saturday via a military plane of the Kuwaiti Air Force, in coordination with the Kuwaiti Red Crescent.

The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in India shares its grief and extends its sincere condolences to the lives lost in this pandemic and stands in solidarity with the Government of the Republic of India and its friendly people. It also hopes a speedy recovery to those infected with Covid-19.
