PGIMER Chandigarh is observing swachhta pakhwada from 1st to 15th April 2021 as part of swach Bharat mission. Swachhta pakhwada is an annual feature. Swachhta pakhwada is observed every year during the first fortnight of the month of April. The motto of this program is to educate The patients and employees of the Institute to keep the surroundings of the hospital clean. The Swachhata Pakhwada was started by Prof Jagat Ram, Director PGI by administering Swachhta Pledge to the employees of the Institute. Director PGI was accompanied by senior functionaries of the Institute including Dean, sub dean, Prof A K Gupta Medical Superintendent. He exhorted the employees to devote hundred hours of community service towards cleanliness every year and further encourage others to do the same. He reinforced the virtue of cleanliness and urged the employees to make it a part of their daily routine to observe cleanliness and motivate others to do the same.
During the drive various activities will be taken up in order to sensitize the patients and the visitors towards the need to maintain cleanliness and sanitation so that the cleanliness campaign becomes a community drive.
Hospital Officer’s further administered the swachhta pledge to the subordinates, Junior’s and employees of the respective departments.
During the drive various activities will be taken up like special cleaning of lawns, parking areas, roads, sarai and surrounding area, outside area of hostels etc.
On first day cleanliness drive was held in Advance pediatric centre and surrounding area.
