Governor of Punjab Shri V.P. Singh Badnore today inaugurated Photo Exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav (India @75) put up by Regional Outreach Bureau and Press Information Bureau, Chandigarh at Tagore Theatre. Additional Director General (Region), Smt. Devpreet Singh accompanied the Hon’ble Governor to see the Photo Exhibition which was well received and appreciated by the Governor. The exhibition put special focus on the life stories of Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and other freedom fighters.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Principal Secretary (Home), Chandigarh, Shri Arun Kumar Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Shri Mandeep Brar and other senior officers. A street play on Bhagat Singh was also performed by the artists of the Regional Outreach Bureau, Chandigarh on the occasion.
Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav would commence 75 weeks prior to Independence Day 2022 and would continue till Independence Day 2023. The Government will organize a series of events to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence as ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ beginning from 12th March, 2021 to 15th August, 2022. The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has said that the festival of 75 years of Independence would be a festival, in which the spirit of freedom struggle, tribute to the martyrs and their pledge to create India would be experienced.
