Chandigarh, Dec 8 – In a crackdown on criminals, Haryana Police has arrested three accused including a most wanted criminal carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 from Sonipat district after a brief encounter.
Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that Police has also recovered four illegal pistols, 13 cartridges and one bike from their possession. Arrested accused were identified as Most wanted Sohit alias Rancho, his two aides Rahul alias Kala and Rahul alias Bijender, all residents of Mokhra in Rohtak. Rohtak Police declared a reward of Rs25,000 on Sohit.
After a tip-off, when a joint team of STF Gurugram and Sonipat try to nab the accused, they opened fire at the cops. Police returned fire in self defence in which two accused Sohit and Rahul alias Kala sustained bullet injuries to their legs.
All three were apprehended by Police team near gymkhana club road Sonipat. The injured were admitted to hospital for treatment while the other has been taken into custody.
Preliminary probe reveals that all were wanted in over half a dozen criminal cases registered at different police stations of Bhiwani and Rohtak districts. More details will be taken after taking them on remand. Further investigation is underway.
