Chandigarh, Dec 8 – Haryana Police has arrested five persons while they were hatching a conspiracy to commit dacoity at a petrol pump in Kaithal district.
Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that five illegal pistols, 51 cartridges and two bikes were also recovered from them. Arrested accused were involved in close to a dozen of petty and heinous crime. They wanted to loot the petrol pump and use the money to meet their illegal expenses.
As many as 11 cases pertaining to murder, attempt to murder, extortion, threat to kill and snatching were already registered against them in Haryana and Punjab. With their arrest, two untraced incidents of murder and fatal attack have been worked out.
He said that a team of Crime Investigation Agency, during night patrolling, got secret input that five armed youth assembled at Francewala bus queue shelter are planning to commit dacoity at a petrol pump. Police immediately raided the location and arrested the five accused alongwith illegal weapons.
Arrested accused were identified as Rajesh alias Raju of Bata, Balwinder alias Kaira of district Patiala, Virender and Rakesh alias Kaka from Kalayat and Meenu, a resident of Danoda Khurd. All accused are said to be from the Binny of Kalayat gang, and accused Binny is already in judicial custody in connection with murder case.
The police have registered a case under the provisions of IPC against them. They were produced before the court which sent them in judicial custody. Further investigation into the case in is progress.
