Support the farmers to pressurize the central government
JJP should stand with people of Haryana by withdrawing support from the government
Chandigarh, 2 December – President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee Kumari Selja said that today farmers of entire Haryana are agitating against the BJP government due to anti-agriculture black laws. She appealed that JJP, Independent and farmer friendly BJP MLAs should listen to their conscience and leave this’ anti-farmer-labour ‘BJP government of Haryana and join the farmers in this decisive battle for their rights so that the BJP government at the center can be forced to withdraw these anti-agriculture black laws.
In a statement issued here today, Kumari Selja said that the statement made by the JJP regarding the agriculture laws was just a show-off. The JJP, which had won 10 seats by seeking votes against the BJP before the election, had betrayed the people of the state by extending support to the BJP last year. Today, JJP has an opportunity to withdraw its support from this Haryana government and stand in favour of the people of Haryana. She also appealed to the Independent MLAs and BJP MLAs to leave the Haryana government and join the farmers in their fight against the government.
She said that today the BJP governments at the centre and in the state are immersed in arrogance. The government only thinks about benefiting it’s capitalist friends. Now that the farmers of Haryana and people across India have come to know about this conspiracy and are demanding their rights, they are being tortured by adopting oppressive policies. Today, entire Haryana stands with the farmers’ against the BJP government, she added.
Kumari Selja said that today the ‘Annadata’ is agitating on the open roads in this fierce cold, enduring all the atrocities of this BJP government. Today, it is our duty to get justice for the farmers. The Congress Party has stood firmly with them in this battle of farmers’ struggle. She said that new laws have been enacted in Congress ruled states to protect the interests of farmers against these black laws. These black laws will be repealed immediately after the formation of the Congress Party government, added Kumari Selja.
