Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore today presided over War Room meeting. The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator & Sh. Sanjay Kumar Beniwal, Director General of Police at Punjab Raj Bhawan. Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, UT & Deputy Commissioners of Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services & Director Principal, GMCH attended through Video Conferencing.
WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS
1. Dr. Puri of PGIMER stated that they have 87 covid patients in Nehru Extension Block, out of which 16 belong to Chandigarh, 41 belong to Punjab, 14 belong to Haryana & 08 to Himachal Pradesh. He also stated that they have tested 354 covid samples, out of which 10 belonging to Chandigarh were found positive. The PGIMER authorities assured to restore OPD facilities gradually.
Acting Director, GMCH-32, Dr. (Mrs.) Jasbinder Kaur stated that they have tested 1,136 covid samples, out of which 37 were found positive. She mentioned that the positivity rate was 3.7%. She also mentioned that the Central Government has sanctioned 02 oxygen plants to be set up in Sector 48 & Sector 32 hospitals.
The Administrator thanked Hon’ble Prime Minister for sanctioning these plants which will provide piped oxygen supply to all the beds in the hospitals, instead of present system of oxygen through cylinders.
Director Health Services, Dr. (Mrs.) Amandeep Kang stated that they have tested 2,596 covid samples, out of which 68 were found positive. She also mentioned that 11,012 houses have been checked for Malaria/Dengue infection and only 03 infected cases were found positive.
2. Deputy Commissioner, Mohali stated that they have 548 active cases, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula stated that they have 185 active cases and Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh stated that they have 653 active cases.
3. The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT decided that there will be no laser show during Diwali this year at Sukhna Lake. However, the decorative lighting in market places and iconic buildings etc. will continue.
4. The Administrator expressed happiness about recruitment of 31 Specialist doctors by Chandigarh Administration. He directed Principal Secretary Health to ensure that doctors are posted in various satellite hospitals in different sectors on fixed days, so that the patients can avail the facility of specialist consultation locally, instead of crowding the hospitals in Sector 16, 32 or PGIMER. He also directed PGIMER to have the facility for tele-consultation over video, so that the patients could consult the specialists over video; instead of crowding the OPDs.
