Camp for shifting of occupants of Pre-Fab Shelters in Sector-52 & 56 to Maloya
The Chandigarh Administration has decided to re-locate the residents of Pre-fab shelters in Sector 52 & 56 to EWS flats in Maloya-I. The project will be implemented under the Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs) Scheme, formulated by the Government of India. The allottees will be required to pay monthly rent of Rs. 3,000/-, which will be increased biennially by 8%. The total rental period will be for maximum 25 years.
2. A camp is going on at the CHB premises in Sector-9D w.e.f. 26.10.2020 for the occupants of Pre-Fab Shelters. The timings of the camp are 09.00 am to 05.00 pm. The officials of Municipal Corporation and UT Electricity Department are available in the camp to supervise the filling of application forms for water and electricity connection. Three Notary Public and three Stamp Vendors are available during the camp so that applicants get the facility of documentation and attestation at one place. Facility of photo-state has also been provided in the CHB premises.
3. Today i.e. first day about 250 applicants attended the camp to complete the documentation for the rental flat under the scheme. For better compliance of the COVID related protocol, the applicants will be called in staggered manner. Entry of applicant is allowed inside the CHB premises in the batches of about 50 persons every hour for which schedule has been displaced at the site of Pre-Fab Shelters and at the CHB premises. The camp will continue till Thursday i.e. 29th October and remaining applicants may be called in the first week of November.
4. Computerized draw for allotment on rental basis will be made and after handing over of possession of flats, the Pre-Fab shelter will be demolished simultaneously. The result of the draw will be pasted at the particular group of Pre-Fab shelter at least three days before the actual shifting, so that the occupants have sufficient time for packing of their belongings.
5. Arrangements are also being made at Maloya-I for handing over possession of the flats immediately after Diwali i.e.in third week of November. The officers from the Municipal Corporation and Electricity Department, UT Chandigarh will join for release of the water and electricity connection on the day of possession itself.
6. A revised list of the occupants has already been uploaded on Friday 22.10.2020 on the website of the Chandigarh Housing Board i.e. www.chbonline.in. This revised list is subject to further modification based on decision of the Committee about pending objections in 94 cases. The final list of occupants will be uploaded in due course and these cases will be called on the last day of the camp.
