Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore today presided over War Room meeting. The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator and Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police at Punjab Raj Bhawan. Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary (Home), Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar Deputy Commissioner, UT & Deputy Commissioners of Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services & Director Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing.
WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS
1. Dr. Jagat Ram, Director, PGIMER stated that they have 221 patients in Nehru Extension Centre, out of which 66 belong to Chandigarh, 63 to Punjab, 23 to Haryana and 19 to Himachal Pradesh. He also mentioned that they have tested 640 samples, out of which 71 Chandigarh’s samples were found positive. He also mentioned that 02 dedicated dialysis machines have been kept apart for covid positive patients, who want regular maintenance dialysis. Dr. B.S. Chavan, Director Principal, GMCH stated that they have conducted 686 tests, out of which 423 samples were of RT-PCR and 263 samples were of Antigen. The average positivity is around 21%. Dr. G. Dewan, Director Health Services stated that they have tested 1,480 samples, out of which 116 were found positive. He mentioned that there is improvement in the city in health condition, since only 9% positivity is found in the samples tested by them. The doctors informed the Administrator that 2,000 persons are in Home Quarantine in Chandigarh and are being regularly monitored through Control Room.
2. Deputy Commissioner, Mohali stated that they have 2,566 active cases. Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula stated that they have 1,153 active cases and Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh stated that they have 2,537 active cases.
3. The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT expressed his satisfaction that there has been coordination among the three government medical institutions for providing facilities to covid positive patients, who need regular maintenance dialysis.
4. The Administrator directed Principal Secretary Health to device a method, so that a Committee of doctors could screen all the cases and decide allotment of beds in a centralized fashion in all the three government medical institutions. This will help in eliminating patients running from one hospital to the other in search of beds.
5. The Administrator also directed Municipal & Health authorities to ensure that there is no outbreak of vector and water borne diseases especially during monsoon.
