Adviser to Administrator UT Chandigarh Inaugurates Newly Extended B-Block at GRIID.
Chandigarh,9th, October,2024.Adviser to the Administrator Sh. Rajeev Verma, Chandigarh, inaugurated the newly extended B-Block of the Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID) today. This new extension represents a significant enhancement in facilities designed to provide specialized education and support to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.The newly extended B-Block is anticipated to strengthen GRIID’s capacity to offer systematic, high-quality support and education.
Following the inauguration, Sh. Rajeev Verma, along with his wife Smt. Verma, Sh. Ajay Chagti, and Prof. A.K. Attri, took part in a tree-planting ceremony in the Sensory Garden of GRIID. The Adviser also toured various vocational and educational sections, including the Sanitary Pad Making Unit, Masala Grinding Unit, Cutting and Tailoring Unit, Autism Section, Care Group, Preparatory Section, Carpentry Section, and Bakery Unit.
During the visit, Sh. Rajeev Verma commended the staff for their commitment and dedication, particularly acknowledging the efforts of the special educators. The Adviser lauded GRIID as a beacon of compassion and skillful support for students with special needs and expressed a desire to visit again to witness the progress of this essential institution.
Sh. Ajay Chagti, Secretary, Health & Medical Education & Research, Prof. A.K. Attri, Director of GRIID, Dr. Ajeet Sidana, Joint Director and other officials were also present during the visit.
