A meeting under the chairmanship of Smt. Purva Garg, Education Secretary was held at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16 ( Nursery wing) in the presence of Sh. Harsuhinder Singh Brar, Director School Education, Smt. Harjinder Kaur, Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights, officers from allied departments to discuss the ongoing developments to upgrade the school Infrastructure.
During the meeting, the officials took up the matter of internal Building and Safety Audit of all the schools. The audit is underway and will be completed in a week’s time which will further be taken up by Engineering Department, Chandigarh to review and undertake the repairs in stipulated time.
Smt. Purva Garg has directed the officials from all the schools to submit their repair requests at the earliest on the online portal of Engineering department so that the necessary action can be taken in a time bound manner.
It was also discussed that the Town Planning Department Chandigarh will submit the report on the land availability in the Chandigarh for setting up new schools as per need assessment, in the 7 areas delineated by the Department of School Education.
