Rozgar Mela for IT Graduates
Chandigarh, 17th April 2025: Today, the Department of Employment Exchange, in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology and the Department of Higher Education, UT Chandigarh Administration, successfully organized a Rozgar Mela at the Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh.
The job fair, exclusively for graduates from the IT stream (BCA, BSc IT, BA IT, MSc IT), was aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry, and providing employment opportunities to young professionals. A total of 322 candidates registered for the event, and 17 reputed companies—including Finverse, Blue Bash, GMI Infra, Jupitice, and Nerve Cell—conducted interviews.
As a result of the recruitment drive, 118 candidates were shortlisted for job offers, marking a significant step toward youth employment and skill development.
Senior officials including Mr. Lakra, Secretary Finance-cum-Labour & Employment; Mr. Nitish Singla, Director IT; and the Joint Secretary Labour & Employment-cum-REO, reviewed the arrangements and interacted with the employers and participants during the event.
The event also served as a platform to spread awareness about the Prime Minister’s Internship and Apprenticeship Schemes (NAPS & NATS) under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. Digital platforms were leveraged extensively for outreach and engagement.
This Rozgar Mela reflected a successful synergy between academia, industry, and government, reinforcing the vision of the Skill India Mission by empowering youth with employment avenues and skill enhancement opportunities.
