Chandigarh Housing Board Employee Dismissed for Corruption
Chandigarh – 11.11.2024. In line with the Chandigarh Administration’s policy of Zero Tolerance Against Corruption, a Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) employee, . Bhuwan Chand, Junior Engineer (JE) posted in the Enforcement Wing, has been dismissed from service due to his involvement in corrupt practices.
An FIR was filed against Bhuwan Chand JE on November 5, 2024, on corruption charges by CBI. Subsequently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) laid a trap, leading to the accused’s arrest. He was produced before the Special CBI Court and remanded to judicial custody.
After having examined the FIR, contents of transcript of conversation between the complainant and the accused, order of the CBI Court regarding remanding of the accused to judicial custody pending investigation, records placed on file and other relevant material, the Chairman Chandigarh Housing Board in accordance with the provisions of clause (b) of the second proviso under Article 311 (2) of the Constitution has today awarded the penalty of dismissal from service to Bhuwan Chand, JE.
