Blood Donation Camp Held at Khalsa College with the Objective of Promoting Blood Donation as a Noble Cause
Blood donation is not just a need, but a social responsibility, said Dr. Harish Kumari.
Mohali, October 10, 2024: The third blood donation camp was organized at Khalsa College (Amritsar) of Technology and Business Studies, Phase 3A, by the NSS Department of the college in collaboration with the College Rotaract Club and Rotary Club of Mohali Midtown. The camp was held under the chairmanship of the college’s principal, Dr. Harish Kumari, in the college premises.
On this occasion, the students and NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in blood donation, raising the slogan “Blood Donation is the Greatest Donation.” The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Harish Kumari and Dilpreet Singh Boparai, president of Rotary Club of Mohali Midtown, by cutting a red ribbon. They were accompanied by Midtown Club’s Secretary Prabhjot Kaur, Project Chairman Amanpreet Singh, Director of Youth Affairs Manjit Kaur, College Rotaract Club President Manpreet Singh, Secretary Tannu, and college staff.
A team of doctors, led by Dr. Roli Agarwal, Transfusion Officer at the Rotary and Blood Bank Society Resource Center, assisted the donors.
While appreciating the camp, Dr. Harish Kumari boosted the morale of the students and said that blood donation is not just a need but also a social responsibility. She encouraged the students to come forward and participate in such important activities like blood donation.
This camp is an important step towards raising awareness about blood donation among students, making them not only health-conscious but also contributing to positive societal change.
