Deputy Commissioner UT Chandigarh Vinay Pratap Singh has asked Chief Engineer UT Chandigarh to construct a boundary wall along the inter-state boundary with Punjab at Village Maloya to secure vacant acquired land of UT Administration from any encroachments and to avoid any misuse of the vacant acquired land for giving access to recently happened illegal constructions at village Jhampur in SAS Nagar, Punjab. During a recent survey of lands at UT Chandigarh, it was reported by revenue field staff of DC Office UT Chandigarh that an unauthorized kachha path had been created in acquired land of UT Administration adjoining Small Flats Colony at Maloya which was being used to give access to plotted colonies at village Jhampur, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Punjab. Based on the reports, directions have been issued to Engineering Department UT Chandigarh to construct boundary wall along the inter-state boundary to secure the acquired land of UT Administration. DC Chandigarh also wrote to DC SAS Nagar (Mohali) & CA-GMADA to get the plotted colonies examined for permission by competent licensing authorities of Govt of Punjab as the location falls in the controlled area under Punjab New Capital (Periphery) Control Act 1952.
