MINOR FIRE INCIDENT IN THE CORRIDOR OF 5TH FLOOR, ADVANCED TRAUMA CENTRE AT PGI
Chandigarh – A minor fire incident occurred today around 4:10PM in the corridor of lift no 5, Advanced Trauma Centre at PGIMER.
The nursing staff and security guard on duty at the 5th floor detected smoke in the false ceiling area and promptly informed the fire department. The fire team and security guards took immediate action and successfully brought the fire under control within five minutes of the incident.
The engineering wing of the hospital has arrived at the scene to expedite the restoration work required for patient care. Initial findings suggest that the cause of the fire was an electric spark in the affected area. Fortunately, there were no injuries or damage to property reported.
