Amritsar College of Engineering and Technology organises athletic meet on the theme “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye”
Youth encouraged to use their democratic right of voting

In order to motivate the youth of the country to participate in the electoral process in view of the Lok Sabha elections, a flash mob program was organized at Amritsar College of Engineering and Technology on Monday. The youth participated enthusiastically in this campaign launched with the aim of voter awareness and expressed their commitment towards democratic values.
Earlier, the college organised its 11th Annual Athletic Meet on March 1-2, 2024 at Jagir Singh Sandhu Memorial Stadium, Manawala. During this meet, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m races and 4x100m, 4x400m relay races, long jump and shot put throw, alongwith other competitions, were held on the theme “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye”, in which, students participated in large number.
To honour the winners, a prize distribution ceremony was held, in which, Dipendra Saud (B.Tech, CSE) earned the coveted title of Best Male Athlete, while the Department of Computer Science and Engineering won the overall Championship trophy with their outstanding performance. On this occasion, College chairman Amit Sharma, Ragini Sharma (Director Finance) Dr. Rajneesh Arora (Managing Director), Dr Gaurav Tejpal (Principal) felicitated the winners and inspired them with their motivational speech elucidating on the importance of finding time for physical activities besides unlocking their intellectual and academic potential.
Meanwhile, a message was given to strengthen the democratic fabric by promoting education and sports through this program. “Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye” campaign is an attempt to contribute to the campaign launched by the Election Commission towards voter awareness.
