Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau Busts ₹100 Crore Scam in Integrated Cooperative
Development Project
Chandigarh, Feb 2 – The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has busted a major
scam within the Integrated Cooperative Development Project, unearthing a ₹100 crore
corruption racket. In a swift move, they arrested 14 individuals, including 10 senior
officers and 4 private individuals, for their involvement.
Providing this information today, a government spokesperson stated that the AntiCorruption Bureau team, upon investigation, exposed a ₹100 crore scam within the
Integrated Cooperative Development Project. The spokesperson further stated that
Assistant Registrars and District Registrars of Cooperative Societies, colluding with an
auditor, allegedly misappropriated funds for personal gain. They misused government
funds deposited in official accounts to purchase flats, land, and other assets, etc. These
officials further attempted to cover their tracks by forging government documents and
bank details.A thorough investigation is underway to gather all necessary evidence. In
this case, a case has been registered against the accused under various sections in
Karnal and Ambala range. Six gazetted officers, four additional staff from ICDP Rewari,
and four private individuals were apprehended by the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau
during their thorough investigation. These arrests included Audit Officer Balwinder,
Deputy Chief Auditor Yogendra Aggarwal, District Registrar Cooperative Societies
Karnal Rohit Gupta, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Anu koshish, Ramkumar,
Jitendra Kaushik, and Krishna Beniwal. Additionally, ICDP Rewari’s Accountant Sumit
Aggarwal, Development Officer Nitin Sharma, and Vijay Singh were also detained.
StalianJeet, Natasha Kaushik, Subhash, and Rekha are among the four private
individuals currently in custody.It is important to note that the Cooperation
Department Haryana operates the Integrated Cooperative Development Project,
focusing on development in rural and agricultural areas through various programs and
the development of cooperative societies.With this significant action, ACB Director
General Shatrujeet Kapur once again delivered a strong message to the corrupt, stating
that irrespective of the department, action will be taken if guilt is found. He
emphasized the Bureau’s commitment to taking action against the culprits with
complete transparency and impartiality, asserting that the campaign against
corruption will continue in the future. Appealing to the general public, he urged them
to immediately inform the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau on the toll-free numbers –
1800-180-2022 and 1064 if any officer or employee demands a bribe for
government work
