Sports as the Antidote:

Retired SPOs with sports backgrounds below 50, veterans of the Army or Paramilitary forces, are deployed in villages to motivate participation and coach young talent. These revitalized sports complexes, once unused, now pulsate with activity as departmental players encourage morning and evening sessions, building teams for competitions across district and state levels.\Harnessing Sports as a Guiding Force:
The “Sports for Youth” initiative boasts two unique elements: Experienced Mentorship: Retired SPOs below 50 with athletic backgrounds in the Army or Paramilitary forces are deployed in villages. These veterans not only coach young talent but also serve as positive role models, guiding them away from harmful influences. Revitalized Infrastructure: Unused sports complexes are being cleaned and refurbished, transforming into vibrant hubs for physical activity. Departmental players actively encourage participation, leading morning and evening sessions and forging teams for district and state-level competitions. This not only promotes fitness but also fosters teamwork, sportsmanship, and a sense of achievement. It was informed in the meeting that Haryana Police is prioritizing road safety through several key initiatives:
• Golden Hour App: Critical data from hospitals, ambulances, and other emergency services are uploaded onto a mobile app, enabling faster response times in case of accidents. This ensures access to quality medical care within the crucial “golden hour,” significantly boosting the chances of saving lives.
Black Spot Elimination: Proactive road safety audits identify and address dangerous stretches of road known as “black spots.” By upgrading infrastructure and implementing safety measures, these initiatives aim to prevent accidents and save lives.
Speed Limit Enforcement: Stricter speed limit regulations are being implemented across districts, ensuring responsible driving and reducing the risk of high-speed collisions.
Combating Misuse of Sirens and Red Lights: Crackdowns are underway against unauthorized use of sirens and red lights by vehicles. This promotes respect for emergency signals and prioritizes safe driving across the state.
In the meeting, Gurugram Police Commissioner, Vikas Arora, stated that, to prevent incidents of vehicle theft, they have urged vehicle manufacturing companies to enhance the locking system of motorcycles. A subsequent meeting is scheduled with company representatives to further discuss and reinforce these measures.

Additionally, the meeting highlighted that consistent actions are being taken against individuals playing DJs late into the night. Initiatives include campaigns in both urban and rural areas to address this issue.

Senior police officers, IGs, and Superintendents of Police from the state attended the meeting.
