Chandigarh Municipal Corporation withdraws orders for reinstatement of employees suspended on corruption charges.
Corruption is not acceptable under any circumstances: Jatinder Malhotra
Chandigarh 17 November 2023. Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh State President Jatinder Malhotra has justified the decision of cancelling the reinstatement orders of two employees suspended by the Municipal Corporation on corruption charges in Chandigarh and suspending them again, saying that Any kind of concession towards corrupt employees is unacceptable. Corruption cannot be accepted under any circumstances.
In a statement issued here today, Jatinder Malhotra said that after the matter came to his notice, he spoke to Mayor Anoop Gupta and after reconsidering the decision with the efforts of the Mayor, the order of reinstatement of the said employees was cancelled and they were suspended again.
It may be noted that in the month of August, Municipal Corporation’s MOH department employees Chief Sanitary Inspector Chandra Mohan and Health Inspector Sandeep Kumar were caught red-handed taking bribe by the CBI, on which they were suspended and the allegations against them were fully investigated. They were reinstated without being proved innocent , due to which Mayor Anoop Gupta, all the councilors and workers of BJP were angry, on which State President Jatinder Malhotra also took cognizance and asked Mayor Anoop Gupta to intervene in the matter ,keeping in view strong resentment, Municipal Corporation officials had to withdraw their decision and these accused were suspended again.
