Hon’ble Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Distributes Ayushman Bharat Cards in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, November 2, 2023– The Honorable Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, graced the convocation at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. During this prestigious event, Dr. Pawar distributed Ayushman Bharat (AB PM-JAY) Cards to eligible beneficiaries from the Union Territory of Chandigarh. This initiative marks a milestone in the Chandigarh Administration’s efforts to raise public awareness regarding the AB PM-JAY Scheme.
Under the AB PM-JAY Scheme, beneficiaries are entitled to receive free medical treatment up to INR 5 lakhs per family per year, which can be availed at any of the 7 pubic and 21 empaneled private hospitals. Till date, a total of 171,456 Ayushman cards have been issued in Chandigarh, benefitting 56624 families out of 79226 families connected under the SECC and NFSA schemes. The eligible beneficiaries have so far availed treatments amounting to Rupees 28.38 Crore.

In a significant enhancement, the National Health Authority (NHA) has launched the revamped BIS 2.0, which includes a web platform and a mobile application. Notably, the ‘Self-verification’ option has now been enabled, allowing beneficiaries to create Ayushman cards for themselves and their families. Furthermore, the mobile Application (Ayushman App) has been made even more user-friendly and now featuring a multi-lingual interface.
Ayushman cards can also be generated at all Public Hospitals and e-Sampark centers in UT Chandigarh.

Procedure to Make Ayushman Card:
1. Download the Ayushman App from Google Play Store or visit [https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in](https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in)
2. Login using your mobile number and enter the OTP received.
3. Check eligibility using Name, Ration Card, Aadhar Number, or Family Id.
4. If eligible, verify the details of yourself and your family members through Aadhaar e-KYC.
5. Fill in all necessary details, upload your photo from your mobile, and start the verification process.
Post verification, beneficiaries can download the Ayushman card for themselves and their family members.
