PGIMER all set to host 36th Convocation, an academic extravaganza to award medals to 218 & degrees to 1775 graduates, tomorrow i.e.on November 2nd 2023

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh is all set to host its 36th Annual Convocation, an academic extravaganza, a grand celebration of scholastic excellence and future of healthcare, at 9:30 am on Thursday, November 2 at Bhargava Auditorium herein PGIMER.

Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr . Bharati Pravin Pawar , a distinguished figure in the realm of healthcare and medical education, will add to the profile of this hallmark event as Chief Guest. Dr. Pawar’s personal participation is a reiteration of government’s strong support for the advancement of medical education and the vital role played by institutions like PGIMER in shaping the healthcare landscape of the nation. Prof. K.K.Talwar, Padma Bhushan Awardee, Former Director, PGIMER will grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

As Convocation at PGIMER is taking place after a gap of four years after 2019 due to the onset of pandemic, 218 graduates from various medical disciplines will be awarded medals for their academic distinction and 1775 graduates will converge to receive their degrees, marking their successful completion of rigorous training and education in various medical disciplines including MD/MS, DM/MCh and Ph.D courses.

The annual convocation of PGIMER Chandigarh will also present a huge opportunity to reflect on the significant contributions of the institution to the field of medicine as well as a platform for students, faculty, and esteemed guests to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of healthcare, medical research, and innovations in medical science.

The event scheduled to take place at Bhargava Auditorium on Thursday, 2nd November will celebrate the growth and success of these future healthcare professionals, who are poised to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of the community as they embark on their careers in the medical field.
